Things are happening at Hoyo Hoyo Tsonga Lodge. A waterhole has been built next to the Mondzo (Leadwood) tree in camp. It is a good spot for the animal viewing because guests can have their meals whilst watching different species drinking the Mati (Tsonga word for water). The first animal to drink water from there was the waterbuck with its famous white ring on its back. The waterbuck is the first animal to sit on the toilet seat after it was painted so that is why its having the white painting on its bum.
It is also been excellent in a sense because we have had walk in guests staying in the camp; after they have seen the place for site inspection then they decide to stay in camp. Hoyo Hoyo is a nice place to stay in, because everything that is done is completely unique.
There was a big male elephant in heavy musth staying in camp, when it saw a car approaching it will start to be nervous and playing its trumpet as the famous Hoyo Hoyo welcome. Bush experience has been lovely as well, guests coming back on drive with wide smiles on their faces because they have seen lots of animals and their guides have been teaching them lots of things about the culture.
Special things have been made as usual for the guests that are coming to celebrate something e.g. Private dinners, birthday cakes. The guests also tasted the local homemade Marula beer (Vukanyi) they loved it. The staff have been singing and dancing, teaching the guests some of lhe Tsonga words e.g. Inkomu (thank you).
