Sighting Report August

The Mluwati Concession has been busy over the last week with some awesome sightings reported and game viewing really picking up as the dry season comes to an end and the animals become more and more concentrated around the water holes. We have had elephants drinking at Imbali’s waterhole daily and various males coming through one after the other to quench their thirst. Coming back from drive a few evenings ago two males were really putting on a show, pushing and shoving each other to test each others strength. It went on for over an hour and was incredible to watch and hear their tusks smacking together. The highlight of the waterhole this week though was a large male leopard coming down to drink and then moving off as though he owned the place!

On the 5th of March I came across 2 male lion’s on Imbali access road. I followed them off road to quite a large Marula tree. I stopped next to it and these lion’s were interested in this tree, which was strange. Also I noted around the tree all the grass was flattened and the smell of a carcass was around.
