In its bid to become a prominent player in South Africas four-star tourism niche, UB Resorts Management SA (Pty) Limited, a group company, of United Breweries Group of India (UB Group), has adopted a strategy of acquiring and managing key hospitality products in tourism nodes where it can add value through its international network.
UB Resorts has entered into a joint venture agreement with the Three Cities Group, which currently has a portfolio over 40 properties in Southern Africa in the four and five start market. UB Resorts currently manages, in terms of the joint venture agreement with Three Cities, the Cape Milner, Mabula Game Lodge, Kwafubesi Tented Safari Camp, Imbali Safari Lodge, Hamiltons Tented Camp and Hoyo Hoyo Tsonga Lodge. The Vision of UB Resorts is to become a sizable and influential participant in the tourism industry and to develop the resources to cater for most of the days of the sojourn of those tourists, which UB Resorts brings to the country.
The UB Resorts strategy of growth in the tourism business is based on offering quality products in locations, which are both popular in domestic South African market, whilst at the same time being areas, which are sought after destinations by international travelers. The four-star market is a market which is affordable to various market segments allowing for bulk business whilst being able to cater for individual guests.
People developing is the key to the growth of UB Resorts. In addition to developing UB Resorts own employees, the properties in UB Resorts have social responsibility programmers, giving back to local communities and assisting in nurturing people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
